The beautiful Lions Tigers & Bears ranch is located just outside of Alpine, California in sunny San Diego County. The ranch is 93 acres in size. There is a volunteer office, picnic area, barn, farm animal encounter area and the habitats for our rescued big cats. Part of the barn serves as an onsite medical care center which allows us to perform routine medical exams and minor surgeries without transporting the cats.

  

Our Three Little Bears Have a New Home

We are excited at the progress our three black bears have made in adapting to their new enclosures and new habitat. As many know, Liberty was the first to be released into the habitat and he was quick to check it out and call it home. Soon thereafter, we released Blossom and Delilah and all three seem to be getting along fine and make for great roomates.

All the bears have been enjoying hanging out by the pond or splashing around in it as well as kicking back in the hammocks or using the scratching post. They are eating well and are happy. These are the moments we strive for. While we would always prefer wild animals be kept in the wild, if they can't, they need to live out their lives in a habitat such as this.

We are still under construction as we lay more concrete for the enclosures and do some minor work around the perimeter of the habitat. We will continue to keep you posted.
