Help Us Be Prepared this Fire Season.

Being prepared is number one when it comes to fire preparedness. We take precautionary measures all year long to be fire ready. From ensuring defensible space throughout our 93-acre property to ensuring each rescued animal is well-acclimated to their safety bedrooms and emergency transport cages.
Last September, we had a very close call with the Valley Fire that burned nearly 17,000 acres only a few miles away from our sanctuary. For an entire week we activated our emergency operating protocols, instituting a partial evacuation of some of our animals, and sheltering in place procedures, as we awaited on standby. Emergency responders worked tirelessly to contain the fire and fortunately our sanctuary was spared.
Last year was a close call, and we're relieved to have the option of an extra layer of animal-safe protection. Mighty Fire Breaker, led by Steve Conboy, an early fire elimination technologist, will help secure Lions Tigers & Bears with Mighty Fire Breaker® MFB-31 with Citrotech™, a plant-based, proactive wildfire defense solution in addition to other fire prevention technology including locked n' loaded sprinkler systems. While Mighty Fire Breaker is donating labor costs, we are hoping to raise $30,000 to help cover the costs to treat the sanctuary with the sustainable fire inhibitor technologies that will protect:
  • Lions Tiger & Bears' 65+ animal residents including rescued lions, tigers, American and Himalayan black bears, grizzly bears, bobcats, mountain lions, servals, leopards, llamas, horses, goats, sheep, chickens, peacocks and a macaw
  • Staff and volunteers that live and/or work on-site
  • All sanctuary infrastructure including our historic adobe structure, animal habitats, veterinary hospital, offices, retreat center and event spaces
Your support today can help ensure we are prepared not only this upcoming fire season, but for many years into the future.
