Meet Jillian, Our African Lion

Jillian was rescued with her sister Suri and brother Bakari in 2007 at the age of 4 weeks from a big cat sanctuary in Louisiana. Due to overcrowding in their facility they were unable to keep the cubs, so Lions Tigers & Bears stepped in and accepted all three lions.

Jillian was named at our Wild in the Country fundraiser in June 2007. The name Jillian means "youthful" and "bright light," which totally described her personality as a cub. Jillian enjoys wading in the ponds of her habitat, snoozing in the cool grass with her brother and sister, and her favorite time of day is meal time!
