Officials confiscated nearly 200 lions, tigers, jaguars, and other big cats found in fair to poor condition. We have been in contact with a team of veterinarians assisting on the ground and would like to raise $5,000 to help cover veterinary supplies for their team to provide the animals with critical treatment. A true sanctuary would NEVER allow breeding and public contact with their big cats, as this only perpetuates the issues of captive abuse for these apex predators. In fact, anytime you see a facility with a lot of baby animals and allowing public handling and petting - this is a major red flag that the operation is NOT a sanctuary; it is an operation fueling the breeding and exploitation of animals for profit.
He is being kept at a temporary SoCal facility that can't provide the space or enrichment he deserves. With your help, we would like to welcome Rocky to Lions Tigers & Bears so he can live the life he always deserved - the life of a bear. Captive bears can live 25-30+ years meaning Rocky has many happy years to look forward to if he comes to our sanctuary. He deserves a life well-spent under the blue skies, enjoying the natural terrain and enriching features that our sanctuary can offer him. Once Rocky is here, he will need a den to rest in and lots of enrichment toys and features such as boomer balls, platforms, and a hammock. He will also require skilled care by our team of dedicated keepers and veterinarians to ensure his well-being. We want to provide Rocky with the best life possible, but we can't do it without your support. Will you donate?
"When I was invited by friends to go visit Lions Tigers & Bears three years ago, I was very skeptical. I am NOT a fan of zoos. I am not a fan of animals in captivity of any kind. And even after I was assured that this was not a zoo I still had my doubts."
