Meet Louie, Our White Lion

Lufuno (or Louie) was rescued along with two other lions, Zulu and Arusha, in April 2017, after their private owner and former animal trainer Brian McMillan, decided to relinquish the trio to Lions Tigers & Bears. Louie was 12 years old at the time of his rescue.

The white lion is a rare color mutation of the Southern African lion (Timbavati region). Louie was originally gifted to his previous owner and trainer, Brian, by a friend in Africa. We do not know if Louie came from the wild or was captive bred. In Swahili, Lufuno means "good to love." With his kind and sweet nature, Louie certainly lives up to his name.
