Raja and his mate, Natasha, were the founding tigers of Lions Tigers & Bears. Raja came to us with Natasha in September 2002 from a backyard owner in Texas where they were kept in a 6' x 12' chain link cage with concrete floors, and no shade or shelter to protect them from the harsh Texas elements. The tiger pair were bought as a wedding gift, and kept together in the deplorable backyard cage for five years.
Raja was a gentle giant, who helped raise his two tiger daughters, Tabu and Sitarra. He was a loving, gentle dad. Raja loved swimming in the pool of the McGrath Family Tiger Trails, laying in the cool grass and hanging out with Natasha and his two girls.
In October of 2013, Raja passed away. He had been suffering from renal failure and kidney disease. Raja's spirit will always live on here at Lions Tigers & Bears. Rest in Peace, our Gentle Giant.
